(A collection of short stories based on real life events)
Olive Beans- A café born out of Maya’s love for coffee and the Olive Greens!
It’s a café like no other! It offers more than a slice of cake; a slice of life may be!
The aroma of its oven delights coupled with the warmth of its charming 30-something owner, Maya, gives the place a happy vibe.
Before she set up the café she often spoke of how she would abandon her corporate desk for cozy cane tables lined with lace and red chequered sheets. But her work commitments always came in the way……. until Siddhrath her knight in the “brassoed” armour came dashing in.
He is an army guy and is a treasure trove of adventure tales. Maya and Sid went to school together. And now go to “life” together!
Sid catapulted her dream into reality and Olive Beans happened.
A dream come true! Literally!
Maya had a vivid description of her café even in her dreams. It was cozy, bright and happy with a tinge of rustic interiors. Her favorite “Carpenters” played on a bright day and “Gulzar” on a rainy one. Her tables were cane and round, with lace and checks all around. It was set for good things to unfold. And they sure did as Maya has a way with people.
Maya is a connoisseur of stories and lasting memories. She makes an instant connection with people who walk in through the door. She lends her ears and her heart effortlessly. They become the storytellers and she the compassionate listener.
The book is a collection of stories that stayed with her and continue to tug at her heartstrings. They are heart-warming and heart breaking all at the same time. They make a compelling narrative with nuanced emotions.
If you look at what you have in life, you’ll always have more. If you look at what you don’t have in life, you’ll never have enough.

Hello! I am Reeti Kalia
I truly believe that, in the end, we are all made of stories. I’m deeply drawn to people—their lives, their thoughts, their perspectives, and the way they view the world. There’s something incredibly exciting and enriching about these exchanges. It’s through these conversations that I find my inspiration.
